  had a great turn out today protesting against the baptist minister who praised the orlando massacre.

  my best guess is there were around 1,200 of us there.

  it was an entirely peaceful protest as we chanted "love conquers hate" and "we are orlando".

  i cannot believe the schoolyard slapping that is going on now. It sure isn't making us X JWR's look any good.

  Support is for recovery. Let's keep that in mind. Egos are irrelevant.

  Im sure The 'Long goodbye' could have been monitored in a thread open for a short time. All other threads could have been locked.

  DS did an amazing job and should not be targetted.

  I had been on this forum for a few months when Simon announced it was closing. I was isolated, vulnerable and terrified. Moxie started JWR and it was a real haven for me. Not least because there was a members only section which felt secure because people weren't immediately granted entry. It was a safe place and I was very grateful for it.
  

  Now imagine how all the others feel being kicked out of their safe haven that was JWR.

  I learned many years ago to never rely on anybody but myself. People will always let you down. JWR is no exception. I'm fortunate to have been active elsewhere and have met a few xjws IRL whom I have become good friends with. My recovery will continue without JWR. I just feel so much for those new ones and others who still have so much healing to do. This kick in the gut and "fend for yourself" attitude is going to be devastating for many. Poor form on the part of the admins in my opinion.
